A Preview of the Norwegian Spirit (Based on Passenger Reviews and Information provided by NCL)

Built-in 1998, the Norwegian Spirit was last refurbished in 2020. With a crew of roughly 900 and the ability to carry just over 2,000 passengers, she has an excellent staff-to-passenger ratio, considering she sails for a relatively un-premium cruise line. She can hold roughly 2,000 passengers with a crew of approximately 900. With various amenities, including multiple included and specialty dining options, a casino, a theater, a fitness center, and a spa, one will likely be content and entertained at all times. The ship also has two swimming pools, a (relatively small) water slide, and a sports court. NCL sends the Spirit to various Caribbean, Mexico, and Alaska destinations.

What do Others Think of this Ship?

The ship generally receives mixed reviews, with some passengers praising the ship’s amenities and friendly staff, while others complain about the ship’s age and food quality. One of the most commonly mentioned positive aspects is the ship’s size, which allows for a more upscale feel. One of the most widely cited negative aspects is the ship’s age, which some passengers feel is reflected in the condition of the staterooms and public areas, as well as the food quality, which some passengers think could be more consistent.

Who is this Ship For?

In conclusion, this ship is ideal for those who are okay with interiors that can feel dated at times and those who prefer a small ship vibe. If you want a premium experience, this ship won’t be for you as it does not have the Haven complex, which is present on other NCL ships, and NCL is not known to be a luxury cruise line.
